my basic nightmare!
_____________________________
oh my god i'm hyperventilating over the really bad nightmare i had last night-it was kinda weird actually but then again all dreams ARE weird. i think i was at some beautiful villa with a tropical feel to it, and i was having a great time until someone (i can't remember who) came into my villa with two Afghan Dogs but these dogs are NOT DOGS they were like a cross between a dog and a monkey- it's like a dog with extremely long arms. and they kept harassing me and they appear wherever i go and i was so terribly frightened. man. in the end to keep their long scary arms away from me, i tossed them a hands of bananas and i think that kept them away for a while.
The daymare i had was terrible too- my daymare is that i can't find a suitable course for me in FASS! bloody shit that they don't have traditional mass comm! so i have to settle for less- it's either CNM, Theatre or English but frankly i'll be really intimidated in English, and Theatre is more for people interested in directing and shooting, which i AM but it's not that feasible in singapore unless i make crap local movies. but CNM is not right cos it's NEW media like gaming, website designing and all that crap which i'm not interested in! i'm interested in traditional plain old broadcast journalism, which sounds very much like mass comm to me!
so you ask me why am i making such a big issue about it??? cos i have NO idea what i'm going to be taking up and i am one step FURTHER from accomplishing my dreams and yes i do have a lot of dreams-BIG dreams hehe. so definitely i need to equip myself with the right skills in order to fulfill my BIG dream.
so that's my daymare! and my banana nightmare!
argh!!!
ok i need to breathe slowly...

the egg race
_____________________________
i was reading this bestseller called the egg race by polly williams and it was about a 34 year old struggling to lead the conventional life of lets see school-dating-work-marriage-kids-kids' dating-kids' marriage-retirement-death and the main character stevie gets stuck at the 'marriage' part of it. i mean, who could blame her, her fertility was running out of time and she hurries into marriage before realizing two weeks after the honeymoon that it was all a big mistake and she had married not out of love! and the man who loved her and who she didn't realize loved ever since they were teens was just right next to her and she just couldn't see. and yes, she and sam got together after a rollercoaster of events.
funny how the person who belongs to you has always been right before your very eyes but you just failed to see him/her. too many stories have this same lame plot and i wonder if it really happens in real life. i mean, this book is pretty modern, it comes with the urban scenario- laptops, blackberries and smses... it seems like a very plausible plot.
so am i going to get married when i'm 34? the other characters in the book have also shagged around in their late thirties, and some even gone to sperm banks...come on, it's not that bad! is it? i think marriage in the 30s is kinda late? but at the same time it seems alright cos that's when women and men are fully matured and have 'snapped out of it' and are ready to commit since their careers have pretty much stabilized and all..but then again, marriage at 30, it doesn't seem to promise enough energy to channel into building the lives of the kids? and especially you want to hit a target number of kids to have, it sure can get tough!
and how about the sex life? well they say that the 30s is the primetime, as in, sexually...well i have no idea and i won't go round asking cos it's seriously not a comfortable topic. like you go, hey there, so has your sex life improved considerably since your 30th birthday? or, did you felt the need for other external aids...okaaaay that's too ah-hem.
so this boils down to the question, what is living anyway? is living just about ensuring you're leading the right life like what stevie thought she was doing, so that you can fit in with everybody else and won't bang your head against the wall whenever one of your friends announced their engagements? is living all about settling down or does it encompass a whole new larger area that humankind have always overlooked? like, i don't know, like charity, or volunteering, or making the world a better place? i mean, why are the singles out there labelled 'personality problem' or 'left on the shelf' or 'desperate'? and why those who really are desperate desperate? what's marriage anyway?
if only we could grab a book-our book-off the shelf and it's titled like "Hilda's Story" or "The Life of Hilda" or simply "Hilda". So when we are so lost and deprived (deprived as in, of living) we can flip to where we left off and see how our lives would unfold. Rather than musing on blogs or in tattered diaries, trying to figure out what the future holds. And i'm not talking about relationships, i'm talking about the greater picture, like, what am i really hoping to achieve or am i just participating to get this over and done with? have you ever wondered or you don't bother and keep living?
and my goodness if let's say i pick up my book off the shelves and start reading i hope that other readers don't fall asleep! it'll be so shameful that i haven't done anything exciting in my life. and i feel that my life is kinda boring. you know, now and then i tell myself to live life to the fullest and not have a heck of a care in the world, which i did! and sometimes i challenge myself to do things even though i'll end up looking retarded and embarrassed and i challenge myself just to see what would happen rather than if i walked straight ahead.
for example, that day i went for a nice swim in the afternoon and i saw two boys playing ball in the pool and i watched them for some time and imagined if i added some "colour" in their boring duet. so i marched-or rather swimmed-right ahead and asked if we could all play "monkey!". i can't believe i did that but in the end yes i ended up looking like a deprived retard cos they just wanted to play among themselves. who could blame those 10 year olds, right?
so you're 19 now. what am you supposed to be doing?
A) Study well in uni and graduate with a decent score.
B) Date.
C) Setting my life map
D) Figuring out my ultimate goal in life
E)
F)
G)
H)
If you picked A, you're very sane and perfectly normal.
If you picked B, you're very sane and perfectly normal.
If you picked C, you're very insane and perfectly normal.
If you picked D, you're very insane and very unnormal.
arghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

here i am with open arms
and if you can't see me
you must really be dumb
my friends make me smile
if only for a while
lookin back on where we first met
i cannot escape and i cannot forget
baby you're the one!
maybe it's been too long... come a little closer, baby, it's the night
it's tonight and i don't wanna run away
and you're the one i need tonight
and now i need to hold you tight
cos i just wanna die in your arms tonight
i've been waiting so long for a miracle to come. and it probably hasn't been performed. either that or it wasn't the miracle i was looking for. let the rain wash our tears away...we will keep waiting on and on.
tv killed the radioman. and it became not cool when you walked out the door even if i tried to keep you in view. cos you'd never turn back as i chase after you down the cold long corridor. you know, i'm not very sure what i want. but i can still crash here right? what's the matter dude? you're drunk and i'm really glad you go wacky but you're spacey and everything and its just not right.
we are the ones to make a better place, so let's start living! cos WE ARE THE WORLD.

Great Singapore Sale
____________________________
I'm using a terminal with a retarded mouse. The mouse is perfectly stationary, but the cursor on the screen moves about on its own while i'm typing this. I mean, the cursor is just wandering by itself slowly around the screen and it's super retarded. Do inform me if you've come across such retarded mice.
Back to the topic that I'm here to talk about - the GSS. I enjoy shopping only when I've got a jolly company... and I've been out two days for my official GSS shopping. In 2 days I've spent $142.90 excluding FOOD. And I saw so many things that I liked but i resisted the temptation to buy them all... *SIGH* Money runs out really fast... The money's gone before you knew it!
There was a great Wacoal bra sale somewhere in Orchard, and before I went into the bra section, I scanned the place- there were 5-6 men standing outside, looking like they were resigned to die of boredom, and their wives had left the kids with them. So they were just standing around, looking retarded while ON THE OTHER HAND, the women were going mad with excitement in the bra section. Yah, okay okay, I admit I was one of them. I loved so many of the bras but in the end I only bought ONE. It's a yellow one. My FIRST yellow bra. And it was cheap too.
Okay, the stupid cursor is still wandering around. Now it's coming downwards in a zigzag pattern. Damn retarded.
And later that I was happy in the clothes section, but I overheard two friends who apparently met each other. They were both married men, and they were talking, and I overheard this part: "Haiz. Kia kah ai koon." (Meaning, walk until want to sleep) And it was true, everywhere I turn, whenever there's a chair among clothes and shoes, there are always elders or MEN. So lazy.
That day I went out with Anne- there was something she said outside Levis that I found very interesting: "Aiya, they got sale but it's bluff one." Bluff one? Then after that she self-explained before I even clarified: "I mean, they got sale but it's still very expensive." Okay. Now i get it. So those kind of sale is..."bluff" one. So when you shop, be sure to go for the "real" ones. But anyway I went in and found a pair of Levis going for $15. NO KIDDING. $15. And it was her size and she tried it on but when she came out of the fitting rooms, she complain and complain about it- she say the bottom of the jeans were damn big, and it was damn retarded. I looked at it and true enough it was- the diameter of the 'bell bottom' is even bigger than her waist. I try to imagine how such bell bottoms look but I think bell bottoms when it's too 'BELL" it'll look retarded.
You know everytime you go out right, most people will see other people they know on the streets. As in, surely you've experienced this: your friends telling you "oh that day i went to orchard i saw so-and-so" or "so-and-so and so-and-so are together!!! yah!! i saw them that day!!!" but it's a wonder that in my whole shopping career i have not seen anyone i know. either i'm very focused on my shopping or i'm just blind. so whenever the "oh that day i went to orchard i saw so-and-so" comes up, I'll have nothing to contribute. oh well.
Hey! The cursor has stopped moving! Yoohoo! But wait...it's gone!!! As in, it's out of the screen!
I ate Subway that day. I made a bad choice - meatball marinara. You know why I seldom eat that? Cos the whole sandwich jsut falls apart. And you'll look like a klutz trying to save your sandwich. Especially the meatballs- when they drop you feel your heart in pain cos there are only FOUR meatballs in 6 inches. And they didn't even have my honey oat, i had to settle for parmesan. So as I ate my meatball marinara sandwich, i had to think strategically- where the next bite should be and which angle to attack. So it was very stressful and I didn't enjoy the lunch. So next time I'm sticking back to my usuals (CCT, iBMT, Club, etc etc). i.e. NOT MEATBALL MARINARA. Or Veggie Delight. That one's retarded.
One fine day I went Jurong to borrow books. I wanted to go back to my childhood, so I went to search on the terminals where Nancy Drew was. But after a tiring and stressful search, the STUPID COMPUTER DOESN'T KNOW WHERE NANCY DREW WAS. So, I went to the helpdesk. I asked the librarian where the nancy drews were shelved. Then she said 'give me one moment' then i said okay. then she type type type, then finally she gave me a slip of paper with the shelf number. Then I said, great thanks and went up to the 4th level. Then this part was totally retarded. I went into the lift (I had my earpiece -radio- on) and i pressed '4'. Then a lot of other people came in. Then I waited approximately the time it would take to reach the 4th floor, cos I've got a lot of experience in lift-taking, I know exactly which floor it should rightfully be. So i stepped out when the door opened. Then i look around and was in SHOCK. It was only the SECOND floor. I tell you, that lift's retarded- it's so slow that the time taken for you to come to the second floor using the escalator is 5 times faster than the lift.
Then after that I used the escalators to get to the 4th floor. There was a huge welcome signboard up there: vaginalteens. Then I was like, WAIT! VAGINALTEENS? Then I gave it a hard second glance. Oh. It was "vergingallteens" It was retarded. It was so retarded. I can't help shaking my head, so in the end in walked into the vergingallteens section shaking my head. And I successfully walked to the shelf where the nancy drews were promised to be at. I went there, and IT WASN'T THERE. So i used my library skills and found Sweet Valley High instead. So I borrowed those instead. What a libraritic experience.
Hey. The cursor is back. It's now dancing in the bottom right corner of the screen. Oh it's gone again. Oh it's back.
I'm leaving the country tomorrow and I haven't got my clothes packed. I can tell you I'm such a last minute person. Even camps too- I remember I always pack them the night before. There's a reason for that- so that I can remember exactly where is what. As in, let's say I need my torch urgently, I know exactly which pocket to look for even with my eyes closed or in the dark. So that's the reason for me packing for camps only the night before. So i guess that's habit.
I have no idea what I would enjoy doing for the rest of my life. I mean, I'm talking about my career. Would I be working in a news press, writing news articles, or some fancy magazine that I don't read, writing about fashion or book or movie review? Or do I work in the music industry, editing the sounds of lame bands? Or do I design clothes that nobody would ever want? Or do I work as a secretary and have sex with my boss? Or do I work in National Parks Board after studying horticulture? HAHAHAHA. Lamo. "Hmm...this ixora plant has been here since 1978, it has a lack of water and too much sun, causing the P700 to...blahblahblah..."
Basically I have no idea what the future looks. Even the cursor knows what he's doing! ...I think. If you're interested to know what the cursor is doing now, it's drawing small imaginary squares. Retarded. Maybe it's mocking me that I'm very 'SQUARE'.
Fine. I'm square. I'm going to fix the mouse now.
Cheers!

Falling ill.
____________________________
I think I'm going to have a flu very soon. You know I really hate flus. They hinder everything that you do. I think it's probably because I didn't drink enough water- I woke up two mornings ago feeling very very dry in my throat, to the extent of trying to swallow saliva with difficulty. And also I've been staying up really late like till 2am...I think I'm leading a very bad and unhealthy lifestyle. But at least I exercise from time to time. I think.
Why did I stay up to 2am, you ask? I think mainly I've been chatting on MSN, and playing games on Yahoo. You know how much I love the games on yahoo. The games that I like, unsurprisingly, fall under the category: "Other". I was so pissed when I saw the category. I mean, how can you say "Other"? Call it a "Strategy" or something. NOT "OTHER". So irritating. These games are like, you know, diner dash, burger island, carrie the caregiver.. these are the sort of games that I like. AND THEN I'M SO ANGRY COS THEY ONLY GIVE US 60MIN OF GAMEPLAY!!! Like burger island, I reached stage 20 out of 50 stages within the 60min. imagine if i bought the game for US$19.99? I can play only like one and a half hour more? so what's the point!!! why can't they just let us play for free? like, maybe we pay a membership fee and we can unlimited access or something. like, $19.99 is way too expensive for an hour and a half.
and i want to complain about wages. i seriously think that $5 or $6 or $7 or even $8 dollars an hour for an A Level graduate is VERY LOW. like, when i graduated from "O" Level, i got $6 an hour. and when i got my "A" Level cert, there are certain jobs that pays the same rate. ARGH. that's why now when they say it's $7 an hour, i also don't want. unless the job is something new to me. i'm so officially sick of sales, telemarketing, admin, and even bathing.HAHA. nah i'm kidding. of course i still like to bathe.
going into a uni is really a big affair. the topic anyone talks to me about when we talk is about university, and who gets what course, and the ntu-nus debate. it's such a big affair, really, it's even bigger than me watching euro or the world cup. and it's such a big affair that i received calls, smses, emails and even muffins as congratulatory mediums. isn't that cool? i was wishing for a street in singapore to be named after me. but that's okay. i don't want the primary school kids studying social studies to kill me.
i've found a few new interests. see, everyday you learn something new about yourself. i've just found out that i like to repeat my "news" to different pple. like, something happens right, whether pleasant or unpleasant, and i'll call up my friends, my cousins, and if i'm working that day i'll yak to my colleagues and my boss, and when i get home i repeat it again to my mom. i'm quite terrible, am i? and when i go online i catch a few unsuspecting victims to yak again. whoops! pardon me!! HAHA. so let's see, depending on the scale of the "news", an event usually i will complain/tell/yak to a minimum of 5 pple. yah, and 5 pple is the minimum. maximum is definitely more than 10. so i guess the range is about 5-12. :P oops. sorry, pardon me! oh then if this blog is counted as a 'person', that brings the range from 6-12. whoops.
okay and since i said "i've found a few new interestS", let me go on to my second interest. it's watching MOVIES. whether it's on channel 5, or DVDs or old VCDs, or online, i've started watching MORE and MORE and MORE, probably because now i have more time haha. the latest movie i've watched is PIRATES 3!!! i absolutey love jack sparrow. ABSOLUTELY my favourite. and i can't stand the fish people. seriously you know, i can't stand the barnacles sticking out all over them. it's really GROSS. it's a good movie, just that a big too long winded during the battle at the end of the movie. go jack sparrow.
oh my THIRD interest is to find out about canines. now my official dog that i love for the month of JUNE is the ST BERNARD. they are SO SO SOOOOOO CUTE and i can't stand it the way they have a barrel tied around their necks? they look SO CUTE. one of them is my wallpaper now. haha. for the month of May it was the red chow chow. haha. so yah. june's for st bernard. :) yup i'll update you on july too.
alright. that's all i have to say for now. i guess the longer my posts, it means the more lonelier i am. because now for example, I"M ALL ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
